The Honda exhibit also showcased a multifaceted display of personalized Honda cars, SUVs, powersports products and two- and four-wheeled racing machines. The Honda Ridgeline Baja Race Truck, in red, white and black Honda Racing livery, will compete in this year’s running of the SCORE Baja 1000.

Honda Automobiles: Honda Builds 20 Millionth Automobile in the U.S.

The 10 millionth U.S.-built Honda Accord rolled off the assembly line today at Honda’s first U.S. auto plant in Marysville, Ohio, as all four Honda auto plants in America celebrated the cumulative production of 20 million automobiles in the U.S.

Honda Invests In Ohio-Based Plants

Honda is pouring more than $355 million into its Ohio plants to get them ready for full North American production next month after parts shortages triggered by Japan’s March earthquake left Honda and Acura dealers short of models. Ohio is home to Honda’s first U.S. wind tunnel, which the automaker created to help boost fuel economy for models designed and built in North America.

Filed under: Plants/Manufacturing , Honda Honda has just announced it will build a new assembly plant in a suburb of Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. This will be Honda’s eighth assembly plant in North America and third in Mexico, and is being built for the production of “fuel-efficient subcompact vehicles” for the Mexican and North American markets. The new plant will cost Honda $800 million to build, be completed in 2014 and add 3,200 jobs to the region when its operational.

Honda Adds Second Shift–And 1,000 Jobs–To U.S. Civic Plant

Living up to a promise it made in 2008, Honda is supporting production of the all-new, made-in-America Civic by adding a second shift and almost 1,000 jobs to its plant in Greensburg, Ind., increasing the facility’s capacity to 200,000 vehicles per year and doubling its workforce. Consider it a sign of confidence in both the Greensburg manufacturing complex and the completely redesigned Civic , which is already on sale here in the U.S.

Honda Production To Reach Full Capacity In August

Automakers are still recovering from the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Among these automaker is Honda, which will increase production volume at its North American automobile plants to a rate of 100 percent of the original production plan in August, for most models. As parts from Japan become available on a wider basis, Honda will steadily ramp up production on a step-by-step, plant-by-plant, and model-by-model basis
